Editor's Dispatch: Renard Jenkins Named HPA President
Congratulations to Renard T. Jenkins, who has been elected president of the Hollywood Professional Association.
Jenkins, who is president and CEO of software development and consulting firm I2A2, had been serving as vp of HPA and is also a past president of SMPTE. Earlier this week, it was announced that M&E tech vet Jenkins was named an advisor to AI-native engineering and “service as software” company NStarX.
As HPA president, he succeeds Kari Grubin, who earlier co-founded HPA’s Women in Post and the Young Entertainment Professionals programs.

Craig German was elected to serve as HPA’s vp and Rosanna Marino was named secretary (Marino will also continue to serve as program committee co-chair and as board liaison for Women in Post). Graylind Wherry was re-elected to his role as treasurer.
Joining (or re-joining) the board are Sohonet’s Chuck Parker, Adobe’s Morgan Prygrocki, and Susan Sachs.
Said Jenkins in a released statement: “It is an honor to serve as president of the Hollywood Professional Association at a moment of profound transformation for our industry. HPA stands at the intersection of artistry, technology, and leadership, and I deeply value the members and volunteers who make this community a trusted space for innovation and progress.
“As we move into the new year, I look forward to helping HPA further connect artists, technologists, and executives in a manner that creates new opportunities for collaboration, learning, and a shared vision as we shape the future of storytelling and media together.”
Last month, HPA announced that executive director Phil Kubel had stepped down and Joyce “JC” Cataldo and Alicia Rock would serve as interim co-executive directors.
